Pig Dinner 1975
Saturday April 19 dawned cold and drizzly
and although for one reason or another only
eighteen graduates could attend. Pig Dinner was
June, 1975
Former Archon George Sternad's (OWU '48)
speech was truely an inspirational masterpiece.
Amidst occasional jokes. Brother George told
of his love for Phi Gamma Delta and candidly
traced the stormy road of Omega Mu's ups and
downs through the 60's and 70's to its demise
an occasion of which the colorful old muckraker
and rebirth in 1974.
Frank Norris himself would have been proud.
Before the Dinner, as usual, was a Happy
admitted they were mighty proud to be Fijis.
When the feast finally came to an end, all
Hour during which everyone had a chance to talk
over "Old Times."
It seemed that as the Hour
progressed and the cocktail consumption in
creased, the "Old Times" became more and more
fantastic. The awed undergraduates listened to
stories of hazing, paddling, and that terrible
ordeal called "Hell Week."
Yet beneath the
talk of onions, the "midnighter," branding, and
the "Chattenuga Choo Choo," we saw the love and
enthusiasm our Brothers have for Omega Mu.
The ceremonies opened with the "Doxology"
and the new initiates came "bringing in the
pig" immediately after. To the surprise of
many graduates, our pig was papier machel
After
insinuations by Ted Sherwood '64 that our pig
looked like one of Symposiarch Jay Johnson's
'64 old dates, Kenny Houseman '78 and Ted Curtis
'23 implanted their kisses.

finished the job, though, he'd kissed both

As the Dinner progressed, recognition was
given to graduates and undergraduates including
Kenny Houseman '78 with the Ted Curtis Best
Pledge Award, Preston Bristow '75 with the Dave
Sposato Best Senior Award, and Lee Allen '76
and Mike Wissenbach '77 tieing for the Joe
Murray Scholarship Award (with a 3.8333 eachI)

the rest of. campus was impressed, because Oct

All it takes is a buck, and you too can be a bonafide member of the Hosea Buck Club for

Our first goal:
a deep freeze, about $500.
Brothers joining the Buck Club will
be listed each issue and remember, it isn't important how much you contribute--it only takes
a buck to joinl
