Miss Leah Hodgins.
We went to the wedding in Hamp-

good—"Sister Leah" just perfectly
lovely 1 We gave them college yells,
Fiji yells and congratulatory yells.
We patted "Lish" on the back, shook
his hand, and kissed his bride.
It was a very pretty home wedding
and everything went off as smoothly
as possible. We would tell what
kind of a dress the bride wore if we
could; but after seeing her happy
face, we remember nothing else.
Ernest is in luck, and Mrs. Ernest ?
Well she has got a "Fiji." What
better recommendation can there be ?
We wish them every success, and all
the good things that can possibly

A new college year has commenc
ed for Old Maine, with a larger num
ber of students than ever
before.
The University is rapidly growing in
strength and numbers, and it is safe
to prophecy that before many "new
years," she will stand among the first
colleges in the country, where one
can obtain either a classical, technical, legal or scientific education.

COMMENCEMENT BANQUET
On
the
eleventh of
last
June,
Omega Mu Chapter held its annual
initiation and banquet. The initia
tion took place at 7 o'clock and two
brothers were initiated into the fra
ternity, S. W. Gould, of Skowhegan,
and F. J. Perkins, of Oldtown. Both
were members of the Q. T. V. frater
nity, when in college. Mr. Gould
was a member of the class of '77 ;
Mr. Perkins of the class of '78. Mr.
Gould was chosen last spring as a
member of the University board of
trustees.
At 9 o'clock we sat down to the
banquet, after which we listened to
talks from several of
the Alumni.
Bro. Gould, '77, acted as toastmaster.
The first to be heard from was Prof.
Estabrooke, '76, who spoke on the
"University of Maine." Bro. Haskell, '76, was next called on, and he
told us about "When I was in col
lege." He gave an amusing account
of that period, speaking particularly
of his first arrival as a freshman in
the first class to enter the college.
\r\nTHE MAINE FIJI
Bro. Owen, '06, gave us much good
advice about facing the "Cold, Cold
World." The present condition of
the chapter was outlined by Bro. Fel
lows, '08.
Several others were call
ed on and spoke briefly.
Among those present beside the
chapter were: M. H. Powell, '99 ;
S. W. Gould, '77 ; H. A. Stanley, '05 ;
Geo. P. Merrill, '79 ; Hosea B. Buck,
