TAU TALES
SUMMER 2018
PRESIDENT’S NOTE
Brothers,
It is my privilege to provide another outstanding
update for the Tau Chapter. After a successful
recruitment we gathered and initiated 15 new
members. The group is very diverse, extremely
involved on campus and filled with athletes from
tennis, track, football and baseball. We are very
excited to incorporate them into our brotherhood,
and can’t wait to see their impact on the chapter.
Our chapter has improved in GPA and Philanthropy
over the past year. We were able to raise our overall
GPA up two tenths from a 2.9 to a 3.1. One of the
greatest acts of kindness and care I have ever seen
took place this past fall. The senior class learned
over the summer that their fellow classmate and
dear friend Madison Barker was diagnosed with
lymphoma. Brothers took it upon themselves to
raise money for the Lymphoma and Leukemia
Society. Every brother in the house found a way
to contribute. From selling hot dogs at soccer
games and football tailgates to dorm storming and
even hosting a benefit concert featuring Clayton
Anderson. In the end, we were able to raise over
$1,500 for the cause. The most special thing about
this philanthropy is that it was entirely driven and
organized by our brothers. It truly shows how
connected we all are on Hanover’s small campus
and how we are able to come together to support
those who need it.
The Tau Chapter continues to grow and has recently
created a Board of Chapter Advisors consisting of
graduate brothers from both Hanover and other
Fiji chapters. We continue to look for advice from
graduate brothers and hope to start expanding our
house to stay competitive with other houses on
campus. We would love to see you at our next pig
dinner the Friday before homecoming October 5th.
Fraternally,
Josh Meszaros

\r\nROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a BCA Advisor, you will work with other fellow graduate
brothers on the Board of Chapter Advisors to guide,
coach, and advise the Cabinet Officers and key Committee
Chairmen of the Tau Chapter at Hanover.
Once per month, the BCA will meet to update each
other on chapter events, successes, and issues, but more
importantly, to make sure their coaching strategies and
messages are unified and aligned.
You will work with and support an undergraduate chapter
leader. You communicate regularly each month to review
goals, discuss progress and successes, and work through
road blocks and bottlenecks. This is where the most
important and rewarding work is done.
As a BCA Advisor, you’d also attend Graduate Brother
functions and major chapter events when possible, as well as
help recruit the support and involvement of other Graduate
Brothers. This would include things like Pig Dinner,
Graduate Nights during Rush, Golf Outings, Philanthropic
events, Homecoming, Membership Developments, and
more.
Expectations and Regular Time Commitments
1. Touch base in person or by phone 1-2 times per
month with the undergraduate brother you advise and
support. (Approx. 1-2 hours per month)
2. Participate in monthly BCA meeting. (Approx. 1 hour
per month)
3. Attend at least 1 chapter meeting each semester.
(Approx. 1-2 hours per semester)
4. Attend the annual summer BCA/Cabinet Retreat. (Allday event once per year)
5. Attend major Graduate functions such as Pig Dinner.
(Times will vary)
1 Year Commitment:
We ask that advisors commit to serving in their role for
at least 1 year. After that year, we’ll discuss if you want to
continue serving on the BCA or if you would rather part
ways – which is totally fine. We appreciate your service to
the fraternity whether it’s for 1 year or 10 years!
PHI GAM SPORTS

TRACK AND FIELD
Brothers Elijah Williams (2021),
Clayton Nobblitt (2021), and
Hayden Veach (2020) had great
seasons in different events.
Clayton Nobblitt competed in
the 100, 200, and long jump
throughout the season; he
came just shy of scoring in the
conference meet finishing 9th
in the 100-meter dash. Elijah
Williams threw two PR’s in the
hammer and shot put; 38 meters
for hammer and 12.42 for shot
put. Veach set a pair of records
in the mile and 800-meter
dash during the indoor season
and finished with second team
All-Conference honors. After
missing 8 weeks of the outdoor
season, Veach finished 4th in the
outdoor conference meet for the
800-meter dash.
