quality. Pledge Education has dwindled in the
past years, but Joel Hutcheson boosted the
program to a new height this year. And I feel
that the chapter is very fortunate that, with
help of the purchase of some new equipment,
our Ritual has changed from an overlooked
formality to an inspirational privilege.
I have worked closely with Brian Jeter,
our House Manager, to improve our house,
and as a result, our chapter room has im
proved immensely. We have purchased a tele
vision which we mounted on the wall, some
new furniture, and a beautiful oriental rug.
These additions along with a newly refinished
floor have created a much more welcoming
atmosphere. With the help of a furniture fund

Fight Yellow Beaks
Farting Shots
You probably don't want
to hear anymore of this
glorified propaganda that is
as dry as The Phi Gamma
Delta Magazine. HampdenSydney has not changed
except for a few cosmetic
appearances. Brinkley, Craw
ford, and Crawley are still
kicking (students that is),
and the fraternities still have
the same reputations. Fiji
has kept a good reputation with the students as well
as the administration and we are the most diverse
and probably the friendliest on campus. Theta Chi
is still beach oriented, Pika is football, and the Sigs
can rot in hell for all we care.
Now comes the old pitch. You probably think,
'Well, I graduated years ago and they have changed
or can do without me.' Remember, "not for college
days alone!" We have a great pledge class who are

The goal of our pledge
education program is to de
velop in each pledge a love,
pride, and respect for the traditions and ideals of
our fraternity, and so far we've been more than
graduate brothers floating around, we hope to hear
pleased with the spirit of the pledge class. The ap
parent success of the program is due to the participa
tion of the entire brotherhood in pledge education,
something lacking in years past. Brothers and

here for the Norris Pig Dinner to show you the
potential we have. Your participation will only

1983 looks like a great year for
Fiji at H-SC with the guidance
of the newly elected officers.
Michael Prizzi will take the honor

Corresponding Secretary and His

Social Update
Once again my social committee has planned
for the Delta Deuteron chapter a semester full of
activities that are second to none. Already, the
brothers have made ammends with the ASA sorority
at Longwood and have en.

of the best in years. Theme

Overall, we are making great strides in improv
ing the chapter as a whole. 1 have never seen more
brothers involved in all my years here at Delta

agement. We urge your attendance at the Norris

And remember that "Phi Gamma Delta is not for
an evening of tropical delights. Garnished with exotic drinks, popular music
and Pacific surrounding, Fiji Island will take on
every aspect of tropical paradise. Palm trees and sand
will join the beauty of our Fiji girls, and we hope
that a cool breeze will blow you in the direction
of your Alma Mater for a visit on Saturday, April 16.
The week will be accompanied by two other theme
college days alone. ' '
