Grad Breakfast a Success
Our first graduate breakfast was held friday April 8th, at NBC
Bank in Lincoln. After a fine scrambled egg and sausage meal
the undergraduates enjoyed talking about old times at the Fiji
house with the graduates, and receiving a few pointers on how
to handle the ATO's. We were all extremely happy to see 20
graduates and 10 undergraduates in attendance, and are
hoping the attendances will grow.
with Don's news and would like to encourage all of the gradu
ates to attend our future breakfasts. On behalf of the under
graduate chapter I would like to thank the grads for planning
the breakfast and for picking up the tab, which we were in
formed wont happen again. This won't discourage us though,
because we enjoyed the morning so much I'm sure we'll be
digging for the money to attend the next one.
Because of the success of the breakfast Donald Larson,
Lincoln Graduate chapter president, said that we will hold

INTRAMURALS
As this semester winds down we con look bock on many suc
cessful intermural events that we have participated in. In bas
ketball, B team made it to the quarterfinals and P team made it
to the semifinals. In swimming the Phi Gams were no. 1
among Greeks and no. 2 all university. In water polo we
mode it to the playoffs but were defeated by the same team
that beat us in swimming (all university). We also hove some
very strong freshman this year who competed in Olympic
weightlifting placing with two 3rds and a 4th in their weight
classes. In power weighlifting Phi Gams placed 2nd and 3rd in
their weight classes. We are presently in 4th place for Greeks
in intermurals and hope to finish off the year strong in the
upcoming events.
The 1983
Phi Gam
Pledge Class
This years second semester pledge class includes four freshman
that are full of potential in every aspect. The Pledge class con
sists of two Millord North men named Jim Waddle and Marty
Mckewon, Pat Duey from North Souix City, and Matt Martindale
from Lincoln Southeast. Jim and Pat are currently 4.0 students
and their majors are chemistry and engineering, respectively.
Also, Marty attained a 3.5 GPA first semester, while majoring in
meteorology. Matt, who just enrolled this semester, as well.
Matt has also proved himself scholasticolly this semester.

The singing Fiji men ore bock.
For the first time in who
knows how long. Phi Gamma Delta entered the All Greek Sing
and come home with honorable mention. For next year, we
need original songs; Fiji songs. If you know any catchy, clean
songs with good harmony, please let us know.
You may have wondered what ever happened to the Pig
Dinner this year. We haven't abandoned it. We've moved it
to the fall; tentatively October 21. This would be a football
weekend and wauld hopefully draw more of the brothers bock
to Lincoln.
Be looking for further information in upcoming
news letters.
Still another oportunity for you is to become involved in your
local Fiji Graduate Chapter. In many cases, the brothers you
meet at the meetings will be the same ones you do business
with.
And speaking of graduate chapters, the Lincoln area gradu
ates and the undergraduates met for breakfast this Spring to
reinstate the Lincoln Graduate Chapter. It was a smashing

Graduate Help Needed in Rush
Once again, the time of rushing new men for the fraternity
comes upon us all. Mike and I are very optimistic and look
forward to the summer of rushing. We want to start the shift
from a chairman wha does most of the rushing to a chairman
who coordinates the program and can rely on the Brothers to
do their part.
Rustiees. The befter quality pledge class we sign ultimately
increases the strength of Lambda Nu.
More than ever, we are interested in the type of Rushee who
has demonstrated an attitude exemplified by exceptional
grades, school and community involvement. If you know of
any young man of this caliber that is coming to UNL or even
has a few years of high school to complete, let Mike or me

area than in the past and we can do it if we hove support from

course was not without the help of our B.C.A. and the tremen
dous support you provided.
The attainment of the Cheney Cup for best overall chapter is
definitely within our reach. But we cannot achieve that goal
without the support of all Brothers. RUSH IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF
THE FRATERNITY.
I believe that support from all Brothers
makes the Rush Program stronger which in turn, attracts quality
several Graduate Brothers. We especially need offers of any
