Greg Sawyers' dedication to the Lambda Nu chapter
Greg's father, Gordon,'44, was also a Phi Gam and
of Phi Gamma Delta is evident in his contributions

Sawyers was one of the main campaign organizers
for the house renovations last year and he spends a lot
of time making sure that the undergraduates have every
opportunity to be successful Phi Gams. Sawyers is not
only active in B.C.A., he also has been graduate chair

he hopes that his son, Nick (9), will someday be one, too.
Greg and his wife, Eileen, also have a daughter, Brooke

is financial engineering and enjoys publishing a comic

Intrcimurals
The Lambda Nu Chapter of Phi
Gamma Delta is looking forward to
another outstanding year in intramurals.
With few seniors leaving and a great
crop of athletes in our freshman class,
we will be tough to stop. So far this year,
all three softball teams are undefeated
and we have sent many Fijis to the final
rounds in both tennis and horseshoes.
Tough competition will be coming
again this year from our beloved neigh
bors, but this will be the year of the Fi
ji. As with everything else connected
with Phi Gamma Delta, we strive to be
the best in intramurals and are disap
pointed with anything less.

to attend the 1993 Norris Pig Dinner.
This year's Pig Dinner will be held Fri
day, October 22, 1993, at the Comhusker Hotel Ballroom.
This year we are fortunate to have as
our keynote speaker our brother and
senator. Bob Kerrey (Nebr.'65). Also this
year we are again fortunate to have Bill
Zerman (Mich. '49), former editor and
executive director of the Phi Gamma
Delta, in attendance presenting the Zer

graduate who has demonstrated Phi
Gam excellence, both within the chapter
and on campus. This award is being
presented in conjunction with two other
major awards; the John Binning Scholar
ship Award, presented to the under
graduate who has the highest overall
GPA in the chapter; and the N. W.
"Jerry" Solomon Initiative Award, pre
sented to the undergraduate who has
shown outstanding service and dedica

Over the past few years here at Lamb

number of graduates that have chosen
to attend the dinner. I feel that this year
will be no exception to this strong tradi
tion. However, one area we have failed
in is to bring back and reunite classes
of ten-year intervals ('83, '73, '63, '53,
