BC FIJI - WINTER 2015     FIJI Wins UBC REC Curling Championship The FIJI curling team, Hammer Money and the FIJIs went undefeated in the On the Button Bonspiel to win the REC Champion Title. The team won the event, while outscoring their opponents 14-5. The team consisted of Skip: Mitch Prince, Third: Ron Denischuk, Second: Robert Chabot, Lead: Eric Scott. Brother Kothe wins Order of Omega Emerging Leader scholarship At songfest this past January, brother Kothe was awarded the Order of Omega emerging leader scholarship in its inaugural year. This scholarship was given to one fraternity member in their 1st or 2nd year of study. Brother Kothe has been involved in FIJI as Fundraising Chair. Brother Maybury elected 2nd VP of IFC In February brother Maybury was elected as the 2nd vp of the UBC Interfraternal Council. Brother Maybury will be in charge of rush, bringing two years of experience as FIJI Rush Chair. This marks the end of Brother Wiart’s term as the 2nd VP of IFC, a position that has been held by a Fiji for the last 4 years.       The Ultimate Ultimate Tournament On march 15th, we have teamed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma society to bring UBC’s first ultimate frisbee tournament for charity. The event will be taking place at Westbrook Fields, just South of the FIJI House and has a Fundraising goal of $5,000. We are currently looking for donations whether it be monetary or in-kind. FIJI Wins Sigma Chi Dodgeball Tournament Over the course of reading break a number of brothers participated in a dodgeball tournament supporting the endowment of a business leadership scholarship in honour of a late brother of Sigma Chi. FIJI went undefeated in the tournament to win it all coming back from being down 3-1 in the final to win 4-3. \r\nBC FIJI - WINTER 2015     Brothers Initiated into Order Of Omega On Sunday, February 1st brother Kirby and brother maybury were initiated into order of omega. We congratulate both of these assets to our chapter as they continue to stay involved in our community.     Brothers Finishing Terms of Involvement on Campus As Turnover begins between Undergraduate Societies and Clubs on Campus we would like to take the time to recognize brothers for their contributions to the campus community over this past year.
