A Letter From the President
Brothers,
I would like to first introduce myself, my name is Elliot Mitzelfeld and I am the
current chapter president for Theta Tau. I am very excited about what the future of
our chapter holds. We all know that Theta Tau has a past of excellence and is
recognized both on campus and internationally. But that does not mean we can sit
still. This year we hope to take the “extra steps” as Phi Gams to pursue a level of
excellence that we as a chapter may have never seen before. This is not a push
for better and more awards as that is not our goal. We are not here for the
applause of man, but rather to build courageous leaders so that we may impact the
world as we grow older.
With the the start of the year I think of a quote: “Progress is important but
innovate with a focus on your tradition and culture. This generates power from
your past to create your future”. As an undergraduate chapter we hope to push
ourselves to be and do better but not forget what you, our graduate brothers, have
done and will do for us. We hope to continue to improve our communication so that
you can feel better connected to the chapter, and so that we can utilize that
invaluable resource that is our graduate knowledge. We are here today because of
the great work of those before, we want to learn from your mistakes and grow from
your accomplishments.
The next year will be full of many exciting new things and milestones, including
our 35th annual Frank B. Norris Pig Dinner. Myself and the rest of cabinet look
forward to serving the chapter in the coming year. We cannot wait to see the
success that we will achieve, and hope that you can't either. Please feel free to
reach out to me at anytime, I would love to hear from you.
Fraternally,

PIG DINNER REMINDER
This is a reminder that the date for Pig Dinner is Saturday, April the 9th. The location
of the dinner is at the Leslie Town Centre right down the road from the fraternity
house. We are still working on getting the hotel reservations, but we do know the
hotel is the Fairfield Inn. Expect a formal invite in the mail soon, and continue to
make plans for coming back to Cookeville and hanging out with brothers! We are
very excited for this years event, as it is Theta Tau's 35th annual Frank B. Norris Pig
Dinner!
Spring '16 Pledge Class Gamma Eta
After another great spring rush, we have a new pledge class of four great young
men. They're started off strong this semester, and we hope they continue to strive
for excellence as they embrace the values of Phi Gamma Delta. A small profile of
each pledge is given below.

Update on the Undergraduates
NEW SEMESTER: As we enter upon a new semester, we have encouraged each
brother to make this semester better than the last. Last semester, we had ten
brothers achieve a 4.0 GPA, and these brothers were recognized by the chapter.
Our faculty advisor, Tony Marable, graciously rewarded these 10 brothers with a
dinner at Nick's Restaurant earlier this month. Below is a picture of them alongside
our new chapter president, Elliot Mitzelfeld.

doing a blood drive for the Red Cross. Our brothers are excited as this is the first
year that we have done a second philanthropy. Plans for this event are underway
and will be announced when we finalize everything.
Relay for Life will be held the night before Pig Dinner, like last year's. We will have
brothers set up at a booth all night giving out different things as well as participating
in the events that take place. So if you have any extra time Friday night and are
looking for something else to do, swing by our booth and hang out with us at
Tucker Stadium!
SOCIAL EVENTS:
So far this semester, we have planned out a mixer with the ladies of ADPi during
March. We are planning are having one party for sure, and if we can find any extra
time, we may try to set up another.
INTRAMURAL SPORTS:
Last semester's intramurals went well, and so far this semester, our basketball
team is doing well! We have made it to the semifinals. We're hoping for a win for
this game, so we can make it to the championship and take home the gold this
year. Softball is coming up after basketball is over, and we are already getting
things together for making the teams for that.
