New House Improvements
Glance at Recently Completed Projects
Peek into a Future Project
The Chapter House increased its curb appeal this past school year with
the addition of royal purple LED backlights behind new, bold letters. The
old letters were professionally cleaned, powder coated, and placed at the
top of the chimney on the rear of the house, facing south towards
downtown Lincoln.
Along with exterior improvements, the bomb shelter received a much
needed paint job. Undergraduate brothers spent several days deep
cleaning, prepping, and designing the new mural for the basement wall.
Half of the design can be seen below, where “Phi Gam”, the Chapter
letters, and the Fraternity’s founding year surround the diamond and star
emblem. On the wall opposite this design, thin white stripes span from
ceiling to floor, crisscrossing over a royal purple background to create a
wall of diamonds.
The Chapter House will be able to express its American and fraternal
pride to all with the addition of a flagpole in the front yard, expected to be
installed in the fall season. Look forward to seeing the American Flag
waving high with the flag of our Fraternity flying just below.
The bomb shelter in the
basement received a much
needed paint job, now proudly
emblazoned with our diamond
emblem and surrounding text.
New house letters backlit with
neon royal purple are one of the
few house improvement projects
completed in the past year. Hats
off to Nebraska Neon Sign Co.

A Word from the President
Lambda Nu’s Current President Discusses the
Current State of the House and its Outlook for the Future
I would like to begin by telling you a little about myself. I am currently entering
my undergraduate senior year of studying Mechanized System Management in
the College of Agricultural Resource Sciences. When I am not busy with studies or
the chapter house, I enjoy spending my time outdoors with the Phi Gam Hunt &
Fish Club or with the UNL-AIRE research program where I work with drones,
specifically integrating drone technology into agriculture. Since being elected
President and becoming more acquainted with the interworking of this house, I
am even more proud to call myself a Phi Gamma Delta and more specifically, a
part of the Lambda Nu Chapter. Throughout this spring term I have been amazed
at how FIJI can provide incredible experiences and opportunities for its members
that are not for college days alone- showing through these experiences what it
truly means to be a Phi Gam.

I believe our Chapter is in a great place currently, because of the fantastic
undergraduate leadership from all the officers who work vigorously to better the
future of the house and the accomplishments do not stop there. We recently
initiated a group of twenty-four outstanding freshman, brothers’ grades are
steadily improving, we were winners of the homecoming float this past fall, and
were recognized with several other championship wins and runner-ups within
our intramural involvement. Our constant graduate brother support still plays a
vital role in our chapter’s success and future. Undergraduate brothers are
beyond appreciative of the un-matched graduate support and look forward to Pig
Dinner and graduate events every semester.
This upcoming school year we hope to improve all aspects of fraternal life. Some
goals the cabinet and I will be working on this fall semester is to implement new
scholarship policies to further improve grades of the chapter and to create new
opportunities for members to become more involved of the house. I believe that
being involved in this Fraternity brings experiences and opportunities that truly
benefit its members for all days of their life, and getting more members involved
in leadership and committees this Chapter will without a doubt continue to
improve our chapter as a whole and individual growth. Should any graduate
brother have advice, an idea, or just want to hear how the chapter is doing,
please feel free to send me an e-mail or give me a call anytime. Once again I am
honored to hold the position of Chapter President, and I look forward to a great
fall semester with our new pledge class. As always, I am mighty proud to be a Phi
Gam!
Pergé!
