PIG DINNER 2016
Twenty-one graduate and 15 undergraduate brothers played a partner scramble at University Ridge
Golf Course during the Mu chapter’s 2016 Pig Dinner Weekend. Fiji sire Joe McGinnis (1987) and son
Connor McGinnis (2018) took home the top prize, scoring five under par.
A total of 178 graduate and undergraduate brothers attended this year’s Norris Pig Dinner at the Madison Concourse Hotel and 16 Langdon. The keynote Speaker Chris Bauer (1970), entertained brothers
with his story of persistence and there was even a special appearance by the Badger Band to celebrate
the evening.

PHILANTHROPIC SUCCESS
3RD ANNUAL FIJI ANNUAL CUP
In early April, the Mu Chapter held the 3rd Annual Fiji
Island Cup, benefitting the Fond Blanc Foundation. Philanthropy Chairman Max Bayer and the Philanthropy Committee worked with the chapter and sororities to host Puppy Day, Fundamentally Sound a cappella group sing off, the
cooler decorating competition, and trivia day. Uncommon
Madison and other local vendors sponsored Fiji Island
Cup, helping us exceed our target goal of $15,000. The final
total raised was $15,056.
SERVICE TRIP TO
FOND BLANC
ORPHANAGE IN
FOND BLANC,
HAITI
Following through on the financial support
dedicated to the Fond Blanc Foundation
from Fiji Island Cup, brothers traveled down
to Fond Blanc Orphanage in Haiti to implement the Fiji Sustainability project. Tasked
with building a set of stairs, garden beds and
a wall, brothers and kids worked together all
week through the Haitian heat to complete
the objectives and improve the orphanage.

SPECIAL SHOUT-OUTS
David Stewart (1955) took one look at the composite photos
of the classes of 1955 and 1956 and knew they needed help!
He painstakingly took the time
to rebuild the two classes' composites, including new backer
board, mounting the photos, and naming each brother's photo. He topped it off by matting and framing both composites.
We appreciate brother Stewart exemplifying “Not For College
Days Alone."
Mike Wygocki (Western Michigan 1986), Mu Chapter
Purple Legionnaire, was appointed by the Archons to the
Permanent Committee on Nominations for 2016. It is this
committee's job to review the qualifications of those brothers
nominated to serve as an Archon of the Fraternity and to
send forward to the Ekklesia Committee on Nominations a
list of qualified candidates for further consideration. Members of the Permanent Committee also serve on the Ekklesia
After one year as a Phi Gamma Delta Field Secretary, Eric
Lied (2014) was promoted to Director of Chapter Services.
Congratulations, brother Lied, you make us proud to be Phi
Gams!
