Served Phi Gamma Delta as an Archon for six years, including a term as President from 1988-1990. The travel company he founded, First Family of Travel, coordinated all tourism and ticketing packages for the Olympics. He also founded Elmore Sports Group, which owned five Minor League Baseball teams and two pro hockey teams. He was the sire of Fiji sons D. G. Elmore (SMU 1980) and Doug Elmore (Indiana 1984) and the grandsire of Carson Elmore (Georgia 2014) and Scott Elmore (Villanova 2015). He was named a Distinguished Fiji in 1991.
