Letter from the Grand Chapter member Dwight B. Hervey (Washington & Jefferson 1858) to Lambda Chapter (likely to Samuel F. Wood (DePauw 1856)) discussing the Fraternity constitution the Grand Chapter was sending to Lambda. Letter is dated March 24, 1858.

"Canonsburg, March 24, 1858
Bro. Wood,
I have this day sent you a copy of our new constitution.
I am sorry that this could not have been attended to sooner, but under the circumstances it seemed almost impossible. When the “Grand Chapter†came back from Washington College, we found business affairs very much deranged, and it has taken nearly all the present year to get things moving again, but we hope in a short time to have our beloved association moving on smoothly under our new constitution.
Please write immediately on receipt of the constitution.
