2016 Rho Phi Bid Day (Bid Tuesday)

(Front row left to right): Louis Campbell (Rose Hulman 2018) and Danny Mateja (Rose Hulman 2019) (Back row left to right): Nicholas Keller (Rose Hulman 2017) and Noah Bawel (Rose-Hulman 2018).

Bid Tuesday, as it is known on the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, is the end of formal fall recruitment in the mens' Greek system. At 5:00 pm, all fraternities receive a matched list of new members. For Rho Phi, the members will pick up the new members and meet up at a location on campus and smoke a "cheap cigar". This tradition (in one form or another) dates back decades. Upon return to the chapter house there is a formal dinner and the new pledges receive a rush tshirt and a group picture is taken. Thirty-four new members signed with Rho Phi that evening.
