Born, June 1, 1832, in Crawfordsville, Indiana. 1855, began the practice of law in Vincennes; 1862, moved to Evansville; 1862-1865, captain Company G, Ninety-first Regiment Indiana Volunteer Infantry; 1864-1865, chief commissary of Musters for district of East Tennessee; 1865-1869, prosecuting attorney Fifteenth Judicial Circuit of Indiana; 1869-1872, prosecuting attorney Twenty-eighth Judicial Circuit of Indiana; 1872-1877, Judge of the Twenty-eighth Judicial Circuit; 1880, alternate lay delegate to the General Conference of the M. E. Church; 1880-1895, minister of the M. E. Church and member of the N. W. Indiana Conference. Author of Biography of Rev. Richard Hargrave, D. D. Married, September 25, 1860, to Miss Mattie Erskine, deceased; married again June 6. 1895, to Miss Martha O'Neall, at Crawfordsville, Ind. Died, January 14, 1897, at Crawfordsville, Ind."
