PL for Nu Epsllon at New York University where we have been told
he did an excellent job.
Stan is now in Montreal working as a
Lieutenant in the Navy, exactly what his job is remains a mystery
to us, we have heard rumors of NATO and censoring films for the Navy.
Whatever it is, i t must be interesting since he has not found time
to
get married.
Stan accepted our invitation to speak at Pig Dinner with only two
reservations, first that he be allowed to speak on the subject of
his choice, therefore, I cannot tell what he'll talk on Sat.
afternoon.
And secondly, that there be a casual gathering at the
Valhalla Friday night..
1 would like to extend this invitation to
all alumni who can join us.
Let us show everyone how strong our
Alumni
are.
The President's Corner

Being the new governing body, we found it necessary to ascertain
the new role of Pi

this
lota here at Worcester Tech and ways
to
accomp
function.
The goal itself, that of preparing a student socially, mentally
and morally so that he may contribute to and improve society.
This has been the goal of Pi lota since its institution in 1891.
With this in mind i t would be customary to l i s t various brothers
who are team captains, presidents of organizations and members of
Honor Societies.
But this is only one aspect of the character of
our growth.
Our basic analysis has been that Pi lota serves as the
vehicle by which we grow and mature from within.
The key to this
awareness and consciousness lies in the fraternity's attempt to be
involved in the IFC, in the school and in the city of Worcester.
The preceeding would certainly sound hollow if you, our graduate

tentative committee
has been discussed to investigate the cooperative buying of house
supplies, which is a Pi lota suggestion.
We are proud to mention that once again one of our brothers has
chaired the American Red Cross blood drive on campus,
is presently chairing the Envolvement committee of the

These
are indications of where we are going.
Pi lota has been for a number of years concerned primarily with
developing of the individual.
It is our strong graduate support

It is my hope that this relationship will grow

I thank you personally for what you have
provided and ask your continued support in administering Pi Iota.

FIJI
SPORTS SCENE
The fall and winter seasons have been good to Fiji's on the
hill.
The football team having its best season in years, 5-2,
utilized the services of sophomores: Trent Germano and Jerry
Parrott.
Cross country, although not as sucessful toured the
countryside with Bob Woollacott and Bill Light, both sophomores.
Bill Light was also elected co-captain for next year's team.
Soccer, the usual big fall sport, had one of its unluckiest
seasons in years.
Ending^with a
6-5-1 record, the team was
lead by Tim Rooney(71) and A1 Prucnal (70).
Jack Keenan(70)
and John Read (71) were also in the action.
Highlights
came after the season when A1 Prucnal was elected co captain
for next fall and Tim Rooney was named to the All New England
Team (Honorable Mention).
Winter sports featured the fine wrestling of co captain Pete
Grosch (69).
Pete went to the New Englands only to see his
hopes shatter by an injury in the semi finals.
The basketball
team was,
as
usual,
Sophomores Tim Rooney and Steve
become starters on the
not
too
good.
However,
(Bulk) Watson played hard to
team and did a
fine
job.
Dave Healey (69), Dick Ellis (72), and John Pelli (70) were
the only Fiji's on the Swimming Team but they did well with
Dave setting a
record or
two.
And last but not least, there's the Hockey Team, lead by
Bob Johnson (70), Jim Jardine (72) and co captain Dick Drolet
(70).
As usual ther were more compets than players form the
Lodge.
I.F. Sports is another matter now.
Our volleyball team
finished in fourth place, but the team worked hard and just
came up on the "spiked" end of the ball.
Bowling and basketball-a^re now in progress , and nearly at
an end.
It seems like the Fiji pins are the only ones standing
on the lanes and the balls just seem to miss them.
Our basket
ball record was 9-3, good enough for a tie for third place.
Ping pong will start soom, and again this spring we'll be
ready to defend our title in Softball.
That's the best we can doll
Always trying to show everyone
that Fiji is number onelll
