GRADUATE NEWS
October 15, 1990
Dear Graduate Brother.
I would like to say hello from all of us starting out our 1990-1991
school year and hope you are doing well. In the past several years the
graduate relations of out chapter has been poor to say the least. This year
I hope to get everyone involved. These newsletters are for your benefit
and enjoyment, and that's what I hope to make them.
After talking to the Field Secretary and several graduate brothers, what
needs to be included is information and stories about yourselves. I would
like to petition you now to send in any good stories from the past or
present that you have on yourself or on other graduates. If you have any
humorous or news related pictures send them in and I'll include them in
the next letter.
Fall
S
This fall's Rush continued the success of last fall's, increasing the
chapter's numbers from 26 to 36 and bringing new fire and energy into
the fraternity. Mike Weekley and Wayne Schacher co-chaired the Rush
week, with the help of Russell Frishmuth (Treasurer) standing in as
President. After a semester and summer's worth of planning, along with
generous donations of paper by Wayne's father, not a wall on campus was
left without a FIJI Rush poster. All of the events were successful.
Highlights of the week included a 9-Ball Tournament at the Side Pocket in
Lakewood, a preference night dinner at the Black Angus, and Football (in
the rain). Several sorority exchanges also went very well. An awesome
turnout at the FIJI/Sigma Kappa Volleyball lunch prompted plans for a
similar party next year. Many thanks to graduate brother Jonothan Wade,
who attended the steak dinner and met most of the prospectives.
The ten men who pledged Gamma Kappa this fall were:
Duane Paul Craft, Matthew Frederick Fletcher, Ivan McIvor Foley III, David
Geronimo Gayle, Joseph Harold Kelloff (Freshman Class President), Wylie
Karl Moreshead, Edy Russell Randall, Sean Edward Sullivan, Mark Hiroshi
Yamasaki, and David Andrew Yount.
Fraternally,
Kevin Heidrich '93
Events to come:
Fiji Fall Formal is scheduled for November 17.
Norris Pig Dinner is tentatively scheduled for the third weekend in February.
If you have any suggestions on what you would like included in the schedule of
events don't hesitate to let me know.
