Dear Rushee:
Next year Knox will be operating under a new rushing system.
This system will go into effect at the start of the 1951-'52 school year.
We know you will be interested in the rules, it is to your best advan-
tage that you become familiar with them. They are hereby reprinted
from the Knox Student:
"The outstanding rules for the program are as follows:
A rushee is any regularly enrolled male student from the first
day of his first quarter until the last day of the examination period
of his third quarter in Knox.
Each fraternity can extend bids to 25 per cent of the rushees
going through the introductory date period.
Pledging will occur on the third Saturday following the first
day of classes in the second quarter of a rushee's enrollment. After
pledging, a man is no longer a rushee.
On the first Friday following the first day of classes of the
rushee's second quarter there will begin a three day introductory date
period. At this time each rushee must visit all six fraternities at a
scheduled time.
Rushees may sign seven preferential dates with fraternities at
any time after the ending of the introductory date period. No more
than three preferential dates may be signed by one fraternity with
any one rushee. The preferential date cards will be signed by a
