PHI GAMMA DELTAHAS BECOME one 07 THE MOST
PROMINENT 07 THE COLLEGE FRATERNITIES. HERE ARE
FEW 07 THE REASONS WHY.
Founded in 1848, Phi Gamma Delta now has over 130 Undergraduate Chapters and Colonies in the
United States and Canada.
Over 100,000 thousand men have called themselves Brothers of Phi Gamma Delta. There are over
75,000 brothers living around the world today.
Phi Gamma Delta's brotherhood extends to all walks of life; from government to athletics, acadamia
to religion, Hollywood to Wall Street, our Brothers play a prominent role.
Phi Gamma Delta's International Headquarters, located in Lexington, Kentucky, has a dedicated
staff providing the continuity needed to keep the services and programs of the Fraternity accessible to
all Brothers
Every year the Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation awards scholarships to deserving Brothers
at each undergraduate chapter.
The principles and ideals of Phi Gamma Delta have helped guide thousands of college men in
owing, maturing, and becoming leaders. It has over 148 years of experience doing this...

Rush FIJI
You are soon going to be faced with what could be one of the most important
decisions in your life: whether or not to join a Greek organization. Contrary
to the Animal House view held by most people, fraternity life offers many
opportunities and entails many responsiblities. As a brother of Phi Gamma
Delta, your first obligation at all times is to the pursuit of knowledge and
excellence, both in and out of the classroom. This is more than evident in our
house GPA, which is consistently higher than the all men's average, and FIJI's
in campus activities ranging from varsity athletics to Student Senate to
International Club. Financial obligations are, of course, a concern for almost
every college student, but Phi Gamma Delta can offer a payment plan to suit
almost any situation. The cost of joining FIJI is $215 the first year for pledge
and initiation fees, and $175 dollars per year in chapter dues thereafter. For
these fees you will get parties, food for study breaks and house functions,
compostite pictures and opportunities for scholarships and career contacts
with Phi Gam graduates. Less tangible, but even more valuable, are the
lasting friendships you will form, friendships that will endure long past your
years at Knox. Phi Gamma Delta is "Not for College Days Alone."
Good
luck in your decision.

grades, and having a good time. We are based on
written and edited (well, most of it
the formulation of high ideals, moral fortitude,
anyway) by Truong Tang. Thanks
and the tightly woven fabric of brotherhood. I

Davis for some venomous, but
invite you to come to our Rush functions, check

the best time of my life. I hope to see you all at

Thad Davis '98
President
CANADA
Seen here after a bout
with Customs officials, Thad pays
his tuition by smuggling
cigarettes into Canada, and
Booze back to the States.
Truthfully though, the head
wound was given to him by
Wafer's girl.
Truong Tang '99
Recording Secretary
This is the only known photograph
of Tang's entire immediate family.
He, unfortunately, is not pictured
here because he was sent to the
Humane society to pick up dinner.
Ed "Eddie" "Edwuardo" "Vince"
"Vandy" Van de Sampel '99
Corresponding Secretary
Ed's many aliases are the results of his
exploits with last year's freshman class.
Ed is now wanted in five states for
failing to pay child support on his
eighteen children.
Nate Asbury '97, '98, '99..
Historian
Known to never let the truth get
in the way of a good story. Having
no liver left, among other personal
choices, Nate has no problem
throating an entire bottle of rum.
John Hongs '90-'99
John 'the Godfather" Hongs is
one of those brothers who is
ALWAYS around when you need
him. Always being the key word.
We think he was around before
our chapter was, but we're not
sure because he says he lost his
birth certificate in the war of
1812.
Larry Cloos & Brian Droz '99
These two can always be found in
the back of the cafeteria waiting
for them to throw out the food.
What can we say, all they can ever
get is seconds.
