The Kappa Deuteron chapter was founded on January 19, 1871, at the University of Georgia. It was later ceased in 1874 but rechartered 10 years later on April 26, 1884. The chapter then ceased in 1891 but rechartered once more on March 23, 1968. The chapter is located in Athens, Georgia.
