Founding Date

Apr 11th, 1890

The Kappa Tau was founded on April 11, 1890, at the University of Tennessee. The chapter ceased three years later in 1893 but was revived in November 1894. The chapter ceased on May 14, 2012. The chapter is located in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The ceremony was conducted at the International Headquarters.  The Ritual Team included Ritualist: C. Ed. Gabe (Hanover 1990); Chapter President: Kyle R. Stewart (Western Kentucky 2015); Chapter Treasure: D. Tyler Mahoney (Kentucky 2015); Recording Secretary: Seth J. Bland (Western Kentucky 2016); Corresponding Secretary: David A. Kinstley (Mississippi State 2016, Kentucky 2016); and Chapter Historian: J. Brent Stephens (Western Kentucky 2016).

The Directors included: Mac R. Cepican (Kentucky 2016) and Landon D. Dean (Kentucky 2017).
