The Delta Kappa Chapter at Davidson College began life in September 1913 as the Bachelors Club. The original members signed a pledge to never marry... although that pledge quickly fell by the wayside. The local fraternity petitioned Phi Gamma Delta for a charter in 1921 at the Birmingham Ekklesia and again in 1923 at the 75th Ekklesia. The installation occurred on September 6, 1923. The chapter was recolonized in 1989.
