CHAPTER NEWS
Homecoming Weekend was largely a success, both for the chapter and
for the college. Union's football team trounced the U. of R. team,
15-0, and many of our alumni turned out to see the game despite the rain
and cold. After the game a cocktail party and dinner were hold, followed
by dancing in the evening.
Fall Weekend is the next social event on the Fiji calender and it is
hoped that many of our alumni will be able to return for it. The festivities
begin on Friday, November 17th, v/ith the Fall Prom at the Van Curler.
Saturday the "Weavers" will entertain, singing folk music, at the Memorial
Chapel, After the program v/e plan a reception for the "v/eavers" at the
house.
Delayed rushing has begun again and several successful events have
been held at the house including a smoker and several cocktail parties.
We would appreciate any information you might have on any members of
the Class of '65, that might help us in this endeavor.
During Homecoming Weekend a meeting of the Chi Board of Directors was
held. The proceedings of the meeting will be published in the next issue
of Chi Tama,
EDITORIAL
In the next issue of the Chi Tama, Brother Bruce Burns, newly elected
president of Chi Association, will write the first of a new series "Alumni
Editorials", It is hoped that through these editorials written by alumni, we
might create a better understanding of how the chapter is doing and what
its problems are.
As editor of Chi Tama, 1 have tried to stimulate alumni interest in the
chapter with new features and an accent on alumni activities. This news
letter is primarily dedicated to alumni but without your support it could
never continue. Therefore, in the coming issues 1 hope your response to
these new "Ailumni Editorials" will be a positive one.
Only through such
response can this nt-wsletter continue to be a success,
A-lso wheviever you see where improvements can be made in this news
letter, do not hesitate to tell us. It is our desire to make it a news
letter of the highest quality possible, interesting and entertaining for
youv
