ALUMNI - UNGRAD ( COMvlUNICATION? ):
May is not only a month to take exams, bounce checks, and roll,
but it seems this year it's also the month to put out the final
edition of something which never had a first edition. We apologize
for our poor effort, this year but assure you of a recently revamped
program to keep in touch on a regular schedule next year.
We'd like to thank all of you v/'ho made it to Pig Dinner for your interest
and support. The evening was a great success being highlighted by a
speech by Rich Evans.
Receivers of the annual awards were:
Zimmerman Award
Buck Hampson
Hildreth Award
Lou Costello
I.M. Award
Matt Hodgdon
John Pegves
Geoffrey Curme
Peter Swart Award
Best Pledge Award
Though we're quite pleased with the turnout, we're planning a big
week-end for Homecomings next fall, and hope that even more of you can
make it back at that time.
ALUIylNI FUND DRIVE:
Pig Dinner marked the official opening of our Alumni Fund Drive. Though
the house is in fairly good shape, there are still many things in need
of improvement, I assure you this drive i_^not to raise funds for
liixuries, but rather to keep oiui chapter" in existence through a critical
period. Fraternities nationally are declining, and in order to put
on as good a rush program as we'd like, some capital is an absolute must I
Recently we've decided on a Phi Gam Scholarship Fund. On the vote of
the brotherhood some brother in financial need will receive a full year's
expenses for the house. The purpose of this is twofold: to help a
brother who was having trouble meeting house expenses and to further the
educational opportunities 01 the house. V/e are advised by competent
council that contrioutions to such an organization are tax deductable.
If you feel so inclined, please make checks for either the Improvement Fund
or the Scholarship Program out to:""Omicron Chapter Phi Gamma Delta
Educational Foimdation."
CHAPTER NEVJS: (alias chapter historv)
The fall rush sched-ole produced an outstanding pledge class . We are
currently eign^h in I.M.'s, but our softball team, (The Phrple Machine),
may take the charapionship and improve our position considerably.
After Figi Island this Saturday, it will be about time to buy a few books
to study for finals.
ALUivlin NEWS:
Because of poor communication the last few years, our files are very
incomplete in the area of alumni affairs. Please help us and send some
hot poop on yourselves. VJe've updated our alumni directory and if you
wish to know the address of an old brother, I'd be glad to send it to you.
VJe all thank you for contributions to oar drive received so far, and hope
you will keep us in mind in the future.
CAT'S CORNER. THE FIGI FORECAST:
Smoking Obe over Casslus (Decision)
The Bucks in four over the Bulletts
