FIJI SERVES
In sustaining the tradition of Phi Gamma Delta being very active in Community
Service, we put forth a good effort and won the GMI Interfratemity Covincil's Guy
R. Cowing CommTjnity Service Award for 1969-70. This has been a great incentive for
us to keep up the work this year, here's hoping we earn the award again this year!!
The Brothers' favorite project is participating in Big Brothers of Greater
Flint. Nearly
of the Fijis have a little brother ranging in ages from 8 to I3.
The big event this section has been the Shrine Circus which was here for one week.
Free tickets were provided for all of the Big Brothers and their little sidekicks t
In addition to being very rewarding personally, this service project was a major
factor in winning the Community Service Award last year.

\r\nFIJIS TO THE DOGS
The Fiji House has an addition of which everyone is very proud. The Phi Gams
are now the proud owners of two Saint Bernard pups, a gift from our seniors. They
are male, pedigree pups bom Aug 12, 1970. Their names are "Caesar of Alpha Gam"
and "Brutus of Alidia Gam."
They must be the two most handled pups in Genesee County. Everyone here always
seems to find some time to play with the "boys" or work on the seemingly unattainable
goal—housebreaking them I
Their home at the present time is a temporary pen made of plywood scraps on
the north side of our house. In fact, it may already have served its purpose,
the dogs can escape at willt Their rate of growth is almost phenomenal. They
have grown so much in the past few weeks that they now have two possible escape
routes from their pen, either climb over it or pry a "board" loose and squeeze
through the fence.
Their father is only two years old and weighs almost 200 pounds.
Can you
imagine hOO pounds of dog maming around the Phi Gam House? No matter how you
look at it, Fijiland is going to be in for a "big experience". In fact, two
big experiences!
