We know that you've already marked this royal purple day on
your calendar, so as you read this Hunch you have only to send the
attached reserxi^ation form to Jim Williams or call him at 86I-5OOO
to add your name to those who would rather feel the point of a Fiji
spear than miss an annual Pig Dinner,
In fact, we've attached two reservation forms to this issue of
the Hunch.
Why two? We hope that after you have finished reading
your copy and have sent in your reservation, you will write a short
note on the top of this page and mail it to a brother that you
haven't seen for a while.
Invite him to come with you to the Pig
Dinner.
Come and bring a brother 1

REPORT ON THE COGSWELL DISPLAY CASE FUND
The officers would like to thank those hrothers who have made
contrihutions to the fund to purchase a display case for our new
General Headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, in honor of the work
done by our own Brother DeWitt Cogswell (CWRU '15) as Curator of
Archives.
It will he noted that the case was given by the Cleveland
Graduate Chapter.
Many of the historical treasures of the Fraternity
which Brother Cogswell has found will be on display in the case.
We have been seeking contributions of $10 from each Graduate
brother.

Cleveland Graduate Chapter dues thus far this year.
No doubt their
numbers will increase before year end.
Please (if you haven't
already done so) send Jim Williams your $5.
Remember—we hope that you will make a special effort this year
to contact another brother and attend the Pig Dinner together with
him.
We'll see you there 1

If one of the perogatives of age is reminiscence, let me begin'.
The
happy results of my 39 years affiliation in Phil Gamma Delta are
friendships in all age groups especially in Cleveland and many fine inemories.
Here are some random listings of Fiji's in this area - or those who could
be here for a special occasion.
Many we haven't seen for years - some
you would particularly like to see - and 1 would like to see them all ,
especially at the Cleveland Pig Dinner May 3rd.
My recollections are
subject to at least two risks.
One, of unintentionally omitting someone,
and the other, in not listing the many loyal and faithful Brothers who
attend almost every Graduate Chapter function.
1 see them often and
enjoy it - but let me list many others we've missed - some for a long
time.
1 know Ed Halter will be with us May 3rd and 1 hope the other Fiji
members of his law firm will join him - Jack Naylor, Charlie Pennington Rush McKnight.
That perennial pair Ed Smith and Jim Johnston.
Where
have they been?
Others we haven't seen in many months - all attorneys Joe Thiel, John Calandra, A1 Morhard (the football dynamo at CWRU in
'49-'50-'51) and Dick Reminger - Woody Johnston - Bob Stepp.
Many of our MD'S and DDS'S haven't been with us lately - Ned Season,
Bill Forsythe (and Bill, Jr.) Art Watkins, Ted Castele, Art Young,
George Sackett, Russ Weisman, Jr., Carl Berger, John Osmond, Jr.
and Don Brannan.
Hope to see Cen. Paul Johnson and his Allegheny
contemporary John Barkley on May 3rd and both Qua brothers, Steve
and George - and where have Dave Howe and Phil Nixon been?
And
Jack Walsh, the bearded ad executive'. And from Wittenberg, Lloyd
Taylor, Ed Lamb, Dick Schoon and (from the Chagrin Valley Fiji Poker
group) Jim Reinhardtl
Also Charlie Briggs (Missouir), Chuck Rimer,
Ed Patton, Henry Evans and Don Weibel, DVM, all from the Chagrin
area - also Roger Weinheimer (former Section Chief) .
Some "double"
brothers - Don and Mai Campbell DDS, and Ed and Bob Norwich - have
seen all recently except Mai, who has been quite ill.
Also Harry L.
Martien and brother,
Leonard.
Many of you have strong loyalties to your own Chapters - like Hank
Harrington and Bob Freeman for Ohio Wesleyan - and this is just fine,
but when you're here, join our Cleveland Pig Dinner group tool
1 know Jerry Comella and Mo Novello are in Cleveland but where is
Max Kelso (CWRU '24) and Bob Wickes.
Sure would like to see them all.
Our Denison brothers haven't been around lately - Duffy Davies, Jim
Munn, Walter Kull, Sr. and Joe Carabelli (a '37 comtemporary).
How about having a delegation from Akron - led by past Archon President
Henry S. Brainard (who will be present), Klare Cibbs, William Curie
Mclntosh and from Kent,
Bob Dix?
\r\n-2IT
From Tiffin - Henry Abbott MD. , and attorney Sam McKinney and Judge
Ray Buzzard and Bob Hartford usually come up fron East Liverpool.
There is a time during marriage, starting a family and establishing a
career when we "lose" our graduates.
All of you mentioned here have
been "lost" long enough - come backl
Missed for some years too, Bill Carter (Purdue) and Bill Cowden (Ohio
Wesleyan), Harry Beder (Yale), the Tract's , Phil and Dick and Dick
Tyner, CPAl Sure hope to see Clyde Foster and son Cole, Charlie
Brunner (who never missed a thing'. ) and Ed Stern and Carl Simmelink
and some of the others I helped pledge many years agoL
Frank Sinkler,
new President of Astrup Co.
If classmate Cliff Ayres is here from New Jersey I hope he'll complete
the "package" with Ben Schwegler and Chuck Turnbaugh.
Other "double" brothers we've missed - Ken Daley and brother Bill,
the Lathe's, John (former Field Secretary) and brother Adrian.
Ben
Hauserman and at least one of his brothers I
How about all the Fiji principals at McDonald and Co. - Joe Thomas
(Denison), Keith Russell and Dick Mapes (Ohio Wesleyan) and Bill Baker
(Ohio State) who rated several lines recently in "Business Week".
Then there are Thornton Round, Ted Hensge, Jim Wilkinson, Gene Hill
and the Sessions Brothers and the Peckinpaugh Clan (who may now have
more Fiji members than the Hausermans).
All these and many more I've known and missed.
With this issue of the "Hunch" is an extra Pig Dinner reservation form.
I know many of you would attend our dinner if you could - and would get a classmate to join you.
Call him or send him this information and
return his reservation for May 3rd with yours. You'll be glad you did
and we will all enjoy getting together again.
An evening of fun - not
controversy!
See you May 3rd.
Fraternally,
a'
