1973 Fiji Island Rises Like Lost Atlantis

Reigns As Queen
Fiji Island rose out of the Illinois
campus like the lost continent of
Atlantis and made another big
splash on the Spring's social
calendar.
Reigning Queen for this year's
"most fabulous" party was Alpha
Chi Omega beauty Julie Niegerball,
who along with her loyal subjects
indulged in a pineapple fried chicken
dinner.
It took a solid week for the Fijis to
prepare for the annual fling and
every undergraduate had a hand in
making the event a huge success.

was constructed from
Fiji Island. The rope bridge above the pool can be seen at the lower left of the
sandbags and a tarp right on the
parking area in front of the House.

June 14 was Noble Harry W. Gibson Jr., '20, who has been Treasurer of the
Shriner organization for 22years and a member for more than 50years.
