Mu Iota Gearing Up for Pigger
The time is approaching for the 78"' annual Pig Dinner here at Mu Iota. This
year's celebration marks the 150"' anniversary for our ffatemity ofPhi Gamma
Delta. Nationals have decided to mark the 150"' celebration by developing an
added incentive for having a great Pigger this year. They have put together a
program called the Pig Dinner Challenge that allows the undergraduate
chapters to earn points that go toward scholarships for the chapter. A total of
$15,000 is given out with $2750 going to the first place finisher. We have been
doing the program and have already scored the base points by sending out a 5
month and 2 month warning notices for our dinner. More points are
accumulated by getting the graduate brothers to show up in numbers. The more

graduate brothers that show up, the more points we get toward scholarships,
and if gold and silver owl recipients show up, we get bonus points.
As this year's Pigger is a landmark in our fraternity's history, all graduate
brothers are encouraged to attend and celebrate our ffatemity. It is the time that

we announce our house awards and also the time to see the fellow brothers of
the ffatemity. It is also a great time to meet the undergraduate brothers of the
house and see what they have been up to. Our keynote speaker this year is Mike
Kramer(class of 1976) and the master of ceremonies is Wallace Hedrick (class
of 1970). The aimual golf game is scheduled and will only be canceled due to
weather. If you are interested in playing contact us and we will sign you up. We
have also planned festivities at Purple Legionnaire Jim Hill's after the dinner.
Please send back your Pigger RSVP's so we can plan for dinner.

Intramural Update
This past fall we par
ticipated in a variety of
intramural sports. As
always, our Fiji teams
exhibited great sports
manship while repre
senting the house.
Many of the members
and pledges participated
in the sports, bringing
the house together and
bonding the freshman
class.
Some of the major
sports we participated in
the fall were flag foot
ball, ultimate ffisbee,
soccer, and volleyball.
We competed with some
of the top athletes on
campus and did very
well.
Soccer has been one
of our more successful
year.
In addition, our team
ended up placing well in
football this year. We
had a few problems
finding a quarterback
but senior Mike Syron
stepped up to take us to
some great victories.
Tyler Roberts said,"We
had a great season, I
think we really surprised
sports in the house the
past couple of years.
This year we did very
well but a few injuries
kept us from going all
the way. Our team cap
tain Teddy Douglass
said,"We had a great
time and played really
well, I can't wait till
next year to play again.'
Everyone on the team

ready to win it all next
a lot of teams with our
unity and team play."
One of the key roles was
the support of our great
playing the fall sports
again, but we have a lot
more intramurals to play
this spring. Our best
hope for an intramural
title in the spring is bas
ketball. We have tradi
tionally had a strong
team and we have a few
of our top starters re
turning for the season.
Our goal will be to fin
ish in the top five this
year for intramural
though first place is still
a possibility.
