Archon in Joseph E. SamoraJr. (NM'78), and the constant support of a Section Chief, JP Bowdoin (NM'91), a current
Field Secretary, Jon Gayer (NM'OO), and a former FieldSecretary JeffThompson (NM'93).
Most importantly we have countlessbrothers from all over the naticn who have been waiting for Alpha Nu to resurge as
a top fraternity at UNM. The brothers are committed to excellence and, withyour help, will continue to reach new

In light of some exciting service opportunities for JP Bowdoin (NM '91)Alpha Nu had a
tough job of finding a new Purple Legionnaire. The chapter has recently electedTom
Joule (NM '67) as the new PL and he has accepted with great enthusiasm! Brother Jcule
is now the Housing Corp. President for Alpha Nu and will eventually be transferring the
same responsibilities to brother Todd Sandoval. If you are interested in becoming more
involved with Alpha Nu, please call Brother Joule at 3500500 or send an email to torn.

Dear Brothers:
Congratulations to the brothers of Alpha Nu for achieving an overall GPA of 3.0 for the Fall
Semester 2001 placing them third among all Greek fraternities at UNM and well above the all
men's average at the University! This represents a dramatic improvement for the Chapter over the
previous several semesters and signals a new wave of enthusiasm and commitment not only to
academic success but achievement at every level.
I hope the attached Newsletter will aptly summarize the Chapter's activities on the campus as well
as in the community and will whet your appetite to attend the annual Frank Norris Pig Dinner on
April 20, 2002. In my newest capacity as Chapter PL and Graduate Advisor, we successfully
facilitated both an Officers Retreat in Santa Fe as well as a Chapter-wide Retreat on the UNM
campus last fall. Our theme "Commitment to Excellence" appropriately characterizes our every
endeavor as we continue to pursue our individual and Chapter goals for the year.
It is in that context and given our current depleted membership-especially those Brothers living in
the Chapter House (currently only fifteen brothers reside there) that I ask for your help and
continued generosity in the form of a contribution to the Phi Gamma Delta Housing Corp to help us
through this difficult transition time. We have initiated a 365 day/year around recruitment initiative
that pervades every aspect of our Chapter life! It's just that this is such a critical point in time for
Alpha Nu as we embark on our theme "Commitment to Excellence" and we need your help.
We will be rolling out a major, long-term fund-raising campaign in conjunction with our annual Pig
Dinner that will involve a more sustained, long-term commitment level. However, your generosity
now will enableus to pay our monthlyhousing bills and continue to operate the House successfully.
Please send your check made payable to: Phi Gamma Delta Housing Corp, to my attention at 6501
Americas Parkway, N.E., Suite 210, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110.
Make your plans to beinAlbuquerque for the exciting April 20'*^ Pig Dinner!
I would like to thank and recognize the following Brothers for their contributions at last year's Pig
Dinner held at the Tow Diehm Complex at UNM. Your loyalty and continued generosity is much
appreciated:
