Several recent developments seem to preclude an unsightly parking garage being
constructed immediately South ol our Chapter House and directly across from the

stud^' is in no way binding, an improved Intramural Drive was proposed to take
some of the high traffic volume off of Russell and University' streets. In addition,
over 500 alumnae of I'Cappa Alpha Theta communicated with Purdue University to
e.xpress their displeasure with the garage plan, which would block direct access to
the campus from their Chapter House. Thank you, Thetas!

Year End Wrap-up
The 2000-2001 school year has lieen a
successful one for the Lambda Iota
Chapter ol Phi Gamma Delta. One of
the vear's main accomplishments was
the startup ol our chapter's first philan
thropy in recent history. The first annual
f'dji I'oreplay iMiniature Golf competi
tion took place in April and was a huge
success. All proceeds were for the
support of Riley fdospital for Children in
Indianapolis.
The year also saw vast improvement
in the area ol pledge education. Our
chapter fielded one of the
largest pledge classes on
campus, including 10
classes. This spring our chapter also
sponsored a car in the annual Purdue
Grand Pri.x. I'Veshinan Scott Prifogle
made great strides this year as our driver
and looks to liave a promising three
years ahead of him. Our Grand Prix
participation would not have been
possible without donations from our
graduate brothers and an intense effort
by the Prifogle famib' who contrilmted
both funds and technical expertise. We
iippreciate their efforts to make the
Lambda Iota Chapter of Phi Gamma
Delta the best it can be.

Legacy Is The
Theme for Rush
Lambda lota has alwa\'s prided itself
on the recruitment of great men and
this year is no different. Accepting no
less than the best in academics and
high school involvement, we man
aged to recruit a pledge class of 30
solid men. Among these thirty are 10
legacies of Phi Gamma Delta, or 33
percent of our new members. We are
verv excited about our legacies, and
have no doubt that thev will live up
to the standards set before them.
These new members bring into the
chapter hope, promise and the
continuation of the spirit of Phi
Gamma Delta.

New Technology
Through the Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation and
utilizing funds donated by Lambda Iota graduate brothers, we
have installed and high-speed Internet connections for each
individual room as well as five new Dell computers. All of
these are attached to our local area network that is connected
to the Purdue University system. The new computers are
located in the Doc Crowder study room, making it a busier
place than ever before. The convenience of not having to wait
in lines at campus computer labs, or to walk to campus labs in
inclement weather has also greatly affected our academic
results. This new computer system was installed in conjunc
tion with a new phone system, complete with voice mail and
member extension menus. The undergraduate brothers, with
financing assistance from the House Corporation, are under
writing the cost of the phone system. Thanks to your generous
donations. Lambda Iota is now one of the most technologically
advanced houses on campus.
