\r\n******** Chapter Report ********
The chapter -Finished the year with S^ brothers and graduated H .
This; leaves SS returning in the Fall. Finances will be tight, as usual,
but more important than finances is RUSH. The International Fraternity
has extended Rho Alpha's probation for another year, and given the>m a
new goal of 35 brothers before graduation next spring. It was the
immense support and enthusiasm of the graduaites all year long
(especially at Pig Dinner) that helped prompt the Archons to keep the
chapter open.
Most notable among Rho Alpha's achievements last spring was the
winning of the scholarship trophy for an unprecedented 3rd time. In
addition to this, they also posted the best grades for Spring quarter,
which makes the outlook excellent for another trophy next year. This is
yet another example of why Rho Alpha is such a worthy chapter of Phi
Gamma Delta.
******** 1985--1986 BCA Goals ********
The BCA is going to put all of its efforts into the following
two goals:
1. Get as many graduates as possible to attend and help
with Rush.
H. Set up committees of 1 or £ graduates
chapter in critical areas.
to advise the
Goal number 1 is obviously one that will directly affect the
existence of Rho Alpha at Ua. Tech. If you do nothing else in your
life, attend as many of the chapter's functions as possible, preferably
Rush parties.
This has an immense impact on the success of Rush.
Graduate attendance at Rush was a big help last year airid may have been
the saving grace of the chapter. If we graduates can do even more this
year, we can propel the chapter to a large enough membership to escape
the throes of probation. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT. PLEASE TRY TO ATTEND
ANY AND ALL RUSH FUNCTIONS! (Thank you. Besides, you'll have a good
time . )
Also, if you know of anyone who is or will be attending Va. Tech,
and who you think would be a good Rush candidate, please contact one
of the BCA officers with his name and any other information you
might have.
Goal number S is to set up*-gr!t»ups of graduates to advise the
chapter in key areas, such as Rush, Social, Officers, etc. So far the
following groups have been set up:
Chapter Administration Advisor
Social Advisors
Graduate Relations Advisor
Historian Advisor
Rush Advisor
Financial Advisor
—Bill Latane
—Henry King and Amos Webb
—Doug Frushour
—Mike Rooney
—Richard Eskelund
—Jeff Whipple
These graduates will be visiting the chapter and helping the
brothers they advise with the knowledge and experience they have in
these areas. If you would like to help, contact Jeff Waldon at the
chapter house or volunteer when you show up for Rush.
