Good Friends in High Places
There are many Alpha Iota graduates
who devote a tremendous amount of
time and energy to the undergraduate
chapter. A fair number of them were
present at the home of Jim "Scoop"
Hildebrand('74)recently when the Board
ofChapter Advisors metwith Alpha lota's
new cabinet and committee heads.
Eight sleepy undergraduates made
their way down to Folk City for a brunch
and a B.C.A. meeting. Section Chief Dick
Davidson ('76) kept us supplied with
chips and dip to help us make it through
the meeting. Promises of a fine cuisine
after the meeting kept us alert and at
tentive to the advice of our graduates.
I couldn't stand it any longer. I had to
elbow my way to the chips and dip. I
selected clam dip on a few crackers.
After several introductions, we got
down to discussing a few topics. Our first
topic was a compliment from the B.CA
members on Alpha lota's strong first
semester grade point average. The Fijis
are currently fifth among 32 fraternities,
while the first year class rank fourth
among the pledge classes.
Quickly, I ran upstairs to get a soda.
After one quick chip in the clam dip, I
returned to my seat to catch the cheese
and crackers as they went by.
Next, we talked about money. Brother
Davidson began by stressing the im
portance of a semester budget We also
discussed a slight increase in the housebill to cover mortgage payments and
rush during the summer months. Alpha
Iota is still right around the campus
average for housebills.We also mentioned
our mortgages which we are still trying to

On another note; I was roused from a
