T RUSSELL ET NEWS STADIUM UPDATES FROM LAMBDA IOTA OF PHI GAMMA DELTA pECEMBER 7, 1987 lAMBDA IOTA WINS PHILANTHROPY TROPHY The PreslJent of the InterfraterniLy Council ut RurJue presented Lambda Iota President, Scott Witte, the Desiderata Award. This travelinj? trophy is awarded to the Purdue fraternity that has displayed "excellence" in community service. The .award was given to the chapter in recognition of their efforts in tiie 1987 P'lJI Run for Leukemia. (33,000.00 was raised for tiie Leukemia Society of America) FIJI-THETA CHRISTMAS PARTY The men of Phi Gamma Delta and the women of Kappa Alpha Theta hosted a Christmas party for children in the Lafayette Headstart Program. Fiji's and Theata's were paired up and acted as "parents" for the children. Santa, Eric Ragsdale '89, gave all the children presents that their FlJl-Theta parents bought. OFFICERS ELECTED FOR 1988 The chapter recently elected five new officers (the cabinet). The new team will take office in January, but is busysetting out an agenda for the next year. The new cabinet, as part of their efforts to restructure the management of the chapter, traveled to Phi Gamma Delta's International Headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky to meet with the staff and evaluate past programs. 1988 CABINET Pres ident: Peter W.
