Pig Dinner around the comer
It's never too early to talk aboutPig
Dinner. John Pukas '92 and Purple
Legionaire Doug Cipriano are working
hard to make this spring's dinner a huge
success. It is rumored thatJohn has made
a few trips to Iowa already to scout out
candidates for this years hog.
There has been great distress
among the brothers in the house over the
attendance at Pig Dinner. Due to the
decreasing attendance, there has been

Specifically, many have suggested
allowing brothers' wives or fiancees to
join us at the Pig Dinner. This proposal
was conceived in light of the fact that
many grad brothers have expressed
dissatisfaction with the lack of dinner
opportunities for their wives. There has
been a recenttrend for grads to forego Pig
Dinner for smaller gatherings at the Quad

Pig Dinner is probably the greatest
opportunity for us to mingle with the
grads, and vice versa. We would
appreciate your opinion/comments re
garding this proposal. Feel free to write
us on the enclosed dues envelope.
Although we understand this is not
a very scientific poll, it is a good way to
"feel out" the sentiments of the grad
brothers so that we and the grad board can

Dear Brothers,
It has been quite awhile since the
publication of the last Fijigram. 1
apologize for the delay. 1 hope that
spring has lifted your spirits and
ambitions in the same way that it has
the chapter. We have just completed a
much needed cleanup of the chapter
house and grounds. The climax of this
unprecedented eventwastheceremonial
honk of the industrial-sized garbage
truck as it left the alley. Spring quarter
will bring with it a busy outdoor social
calendar with the annual Fiji Island and
Airband parties. In order to highlight
our concern for risk-management we
willcosponsor thebring-your-own-beer
party with Phi Delta Theta and the two
sororities on campus.
We are extremely proud of our
new initiates and pledge class. The new
initiates have already made a positive
impact on the chapter. Three of them
are serving on a IFC committee which
continued on page 2
This winter a new cabinet was
elected. The last cabinet left the chapter
in great shape. They successfully set up
a committee system to deal more
effectively with house issues, worked to
keep chapter tone high,and restructured
the bookkeeping system in order to ensure
prompt payment of bills and a strong
fiscal condition for the house. Fiji nights
were developed to enhance grad relations
and thecabinetorganized a hugeB.Y.O.B.
interfraternity party to promote
responsible drinking. Thenewcabinetis:
served as one of the fall pledge class's
pledge educators. Marcel Seefeldtserved
the house faithfully last year as social
chairman, working hard to make social
events fun and safe.
The chapter is looking forward to
more exciting progress under the new
leadership.
