House
Renovation
Project
Finished!!
The long-awaited (and long-needed) renovation of the Iota
Sigma chapter house was declared complete at the Norris Pig
Dinner on March 23, 1991.
Housing Corporation President
Jeff Farrel1 ^75 presented to the house a plaque noting the
contributions of Brothers to the project, classified by
various levels of monetary donations.
There is s t i l l more
work that needs to be done, so if you haven't given to the
project, please feel free to send money to either the ISGA
(with House renovation marked in the memo spot) or directly
to
Jeff
Farrel1.
What all WAS done, you ask?
You would not recognize the
first floor of the house - new carpeting throughout; new
ceilings in the kitchen, living room, and foyer; new
furniture for the living room; new lights in the kitchen and
foyer; new walls in the dining room (no more paneling) and
foyer; the paneling in the living room has been painted an
off-white (see it to believe how good it looks), and all the
woodwork in the foyer and into the living room has been
stripped of 20 years of paint!
The second floor hallway has
been redone, with recessed lighting in the new ceiling (no
more tiles), a telephone booth accessible from the hallway
Instead of
in
the
bathroom,
a
new bulletin board,
and new
carpeting!
Also put on the house was a new roof, replacing
the one that had withstood 20 years of Terre Haute weather!
Feel free to call Bill N1ederer '85 at the above telephone
number if you'd like to be sent photos, or if you'd like to
give money to this great project!
The Housing Corporation
went nearly bankrupt paying for all the above (the roof was
not originally part of the project), and could use an
infusion
of
funds!!
There
is still
third floor and in the basement,
is too small to help!!
Many thanks to all
work
to
be
done
so don't be shy -
on
