The Hotels at Syracuse Square will

successful that it will be continued.
Twenty-three brothers are eligible
to receive their silver owl (they
were initiated in 1962) and four arc
eligible to receive their gold owl
(they were initiated in 1937).
For those returning for the weekend,
there will be a social gathering and

"I'm Smart" people designed a
program specifically for the Greek
organizations of Syracuse
University.Six fraternities voted to
be the founders. Sigma Nu Fijis are
one of the six. Tire campus program is
called "The Respectable Way to
Party." A plaque was presented to
chapter president, Charlie
Matthews,indicating that the Phi
Gams are one of the founders of the
program.Cost is $15 per member per
school year and initially we are
asking the parents of undergraduates
to voluntarily cover for their sons
(since tlris was not budgeted).The
House Corporation will pick up the
difference and next school year it
will be included in the chapter
budget.
ITie 12-week pledge period is highly
structured toward knowledge of the
Purple Pilgrim and of house trivia. It
is the job of the pledge educator to
guide them through the Purple
Pilgrim and make sure each pledge
learns the Iristory of Phi Gamma
Delta; the brotherhood plays a big
part in handing down Sigma Nu
history and traditions.
Eric Struck,a pledge last fall, was
the junior Inter-Fraternity Council
president. The pledge class as a
whole was responsible for many a
morning wakeup with donuts and
cocktails, still a favorite. Hre
pledge football tournament is a great
time and brings the pledges together.
Fiji pledges even managed to make it
to the finals last semester, due in
part to the ever-present and
supportive brothers on the sidelines.
Overall, with the initiation of 13
fine new Phi Gams,the pledge
program is doing very well and
smooth,teaching me the
responsibilities and idiosyncrasies
inherent in this job. With the
guidance of the cabinet and the
House Corporation we can continue to
look forward to a promising
financial future here at Sigma Nu.
Fraternally,
