Chapter
of
Phi
Gamma
Delta has been
shining this year at Oregon State University,
The push this year
has
been
involvement,
and
the
areas
which
are
reaping the
benefits
are
community
service,
intermurals,
and
campus
involvement.
Campus Activities
are being taken seriously and everyone is
encouraged to participate.
As reigning greek week
champions the
push to
repeat is
evident in the fact that the greek week chair
is
held
by a Fiji, and
two other
brothers are on
the committee to
make Fiji dominance in greek week a tradition.
We have people on
the ASOSU Publ ic Affairs
Task
Force,
the
IFC
Sing Committee,
Greek
Columns,
and
we
also
have
the
IFC
treasurer,
IFC
representatives, as wel l as this years* homecoming king.
Campus
sports involvement
has also
been good.
We have two pledges on
the varsity crew team and two brothers on
the rugby
team.
Also
two
or
the
five
male
cheerleaders
are
Fi iis,
as
wel l
as
one
varsity lacrosse player.

Intermurals are
looking

A bi l liards
tournament is
also under
way with sixteen people trying out for
the four man team.
With the Intermural participation up as it is
the goal to improve is within range.
Community service rose to new heights during fal l term, with
330 hours of
dedicated
work
by the Fiji
men.
This number
is up
from 240 hours in the spring of 1987.
The results of our efforts
have not only been rewarding to us but to the whole greek system.
There
have
been
editorials
in
campus
and
local
newspapers
thanking us for the support of the needy, even including pictures
of Fiji
men in
action.
Furthermore, two publ ic radio stations
have also acknowledged our
efforts over
the airways.
for this
winter term
is to pass the 350 hour
