Alumni from far and wide attended the 83rd Annual Norris Pig Dinner, held this year at the Soangetaha
Country Cluh. The M.C. was Tom O'Neal '77 and he had the honor of introducing Archon Trustee, James Lee.
Brother Lee's speech was received with praise from alumni brothers and undergraduate brothers alike. He spoke
to the brothers about the changes that are occurring at the International level and what that means for the
brothers of the Gamma Deuteron chapter. The meat was well done and the vino was exquisite this year at Pig
Dinner which provided not only a forum for conversation and song; but for brotherhood. The 55 graduate and
undergraduate members attending the dinner had a good time singing "Bringing in the Pig" because once again
the freshmen kissed the tail.
Most importantly the Norris Pig Dinner served to reunite the fraternal ties of brotherhood with all of its
members. Members from far and wide were brought together commemorating those FIJI'S with murderous
intent so long ago. Tales of truth and legend were exchanged as freely while the ...soda flowed all night. After
the smoke had cleared, all agreed that the reunification during Pig Dinner made it an overwhelming success.
President Mike McFadden presents Trustee James Lee
with a token of our appreciation during the dinner.

could handle just about anything. I was wrong.
Trying to organize and lead a group of 45 men has
been one of the biggest challenges of my life. Not
only has it been a challenge, but one of the greatest
learning experiences of my life at Knox College. I
have developed responsibility and leadership skills
that I will use the rest of my life.
I assumed my position in early November.
The transition was very smooth. I would like to

was extremely worthwhile and we plan to make it a

Rush was our main focus. We wanted to

without the benefit of FIJI participation in the last
few years. This win by Wolfram couldn't have
come at a better time. In the past the FIJI'S have
been blocked by other members of the IFC that set
to redefine voting participation as something
exclusive like memberships to the upper deck of a
great ship. Wolfram was something they couldn't
have possibly prepared for. Wolfram with the
support of several members of Gamma Deuteron,
centralized support for his Presidential bid sans the
arrogance of oAer members in the past. The Beta
era died as Wolfram received two votes more than
his opponent and will thusly succeed Beta-Mike
Sory '95 for the Presidential office. Wolfram
promised that this will be a new beginning of
fairness and equality among the houses. By
pledging his unique brand of leadership to the Inter
Fraternity Council, Wolfram hopes to push the
Greek system toward the more open and friendly
environment.

Fund-raiser Information
The newly renovated Fiji house has given the Knox Phi Gams a new sense of unity and strength on the
Knox Campus. It is a source of pride for the active brothers and graduate brothers alike. The house stands as a
symbol to Fiji glory, renewing the confidence of the actives and of the visiting alumni.
Because the renovation cost are not all paid for yet, the current residents of the Fiji (castle) house are
offering graduate brothers the chance to become a permanent part of the new era of Fiji reign at Knox.
By donating a minimum of $200 a graduate can have his name and class engraved on a 12x8x4 inch
brick that will permanently stand at the entrance of the house. Your name and class will be forever remembered
as future Phi Gams step through the portals of this house and tread on bricks celebrating your dedication to Phi
Gamma Delta.
