The Iota Pi chapter at IUPUI of Phi Gamma Delta
would like to wish everyone a belated happy holidays as well as share our excitement continuing forward to another successful semester. This semester
we plan to get more involved on campus, strengthen
our scholarship plans outside of the classroom, and
much more.
\r\nThe Iota Pi chapter would like to represent how we live through our values of Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality, and Excellence.
Friendship - The iota pi chapter of Phi Gamma Delta demonstrate friendship
through various brotherhood events from paintballing to a campout in Jasper, Indiana
where members are engaged and strengthen skills by incorporating team-building exercises, problem-solving strategies, and communication activities. Through these
brotherhood events we have been recognized by IFC at IUPUI by earning a gold
standard brotherhood.
Knowledge - We have lived through our value of friendship by having the high-
est average GPA of 3.23 amongst fraternities, as well as our fall 2017 pledge class
having the highest average GPA of 3.28 among fraternity pledge classes. IFC has also brought an academic belt into the ring for the fraternity with the highest average
GPA that we plan to hold on to for awhile. Our scholarship chair has let the brothers
with the highest GPAs be captains for our scholarship draft with the winning team
winning a $400 gift card. Another key of scholarship we have been keying in on is
preparation for careers and internships through programs on campus such as Ascend. We have had many brothers land internships in there desired fields, get accepted to their top choice for graduate school,
as well as land solid jobs to a successful career path pressing on forever and always.
\r\nService - Through our value of service
we as a chapter were able to raise a little
over $6,000 for Riley Children's Hospital
with our event, Laughter is the Best Medicine, where various comedians performed,
brothers fundraised through crowdchange,
as well as t-shirt sells. These fundraising
efforts helped us gain a platinum sponsor
giving us our own themed hour, tabling
hours, and more opportunities to promote
the great name of Fiji we all love. Community Service has dramatically improved
with an average of 15 hours per brother
last semester, and is predicted to improve this semester due to joint service events
and a new bylaw put into effect. Below picture is a joint service event with AXO writing
letters to victims of domestic abuse.
Morality - Morality is a value we live by
everyday by being courageous leaders from carrying ourselves to the highest standard through
our Jboard procedures giving brothers a system
of reality checks for failing to meet our values or
break a bylaw. We are able to hold ourselves to
such a high standard so easily through our
pledge education process teaching the new
members not just our values, but how to bind
them into our daily lives to become the true Fiji
gentlemen no matter the situation.
Excellence - We are always striving for improvements as a chapter and within
our committees. This year at Indiana State Day the Iota Pi Chapter of IUPUI won most
improved chapter for the second year in a row and 2nd best chapter in the state of Indiana. We also were presented with being a gold standard chapter by IFC at IUPUI.
Although we are only still a fairly new chapter we are still working on developing rapidly striving to become the best in the State and nationally recognized. Pictured below

strong impact on campus this upcoming school year. We plan to accomplish our
goals and becoming the best Phi Gams we can. But until then,
