Not for College Days Alone
LEAVE YOUR LEGACY AT TEXAS FIJI
Help Increase Your Pledge Class Participation by Making a Gift Today
T
he graduates of Texas Fiji have really
made an impact on the Texas Fiji: Not
for College Days Alone campaign. As you
probably saw in our last letter to you, several
pledge classes have exceptional participation.
The class of 1954 has 72% participation, 1955
has 50%, and 1976 has 47%. The class of 1976
also leads with 18 members participating in the
campaign! Below we have included an updated
top three list in each decade to see who is
leading the charge.
An updated view of the construction site, showing
storm drainage lines being installed.
To date, we are $830,000 short of reaching the
$5.5 million goal and need the support of all
brothers to achieve success. We are 85% of the
way there—we need you more than ever to help
meet our goal.
Please take a few moments to look over the
donor list on the back page and acknowledge
our brothers who have joined the effort to
provide a secure future for Texas Fiji. We thank
these graduates and friends for their generous
contributions. Thus far, 399 of 1,933 graduates
have shown their support of this vital campaign.
That translates to 20% participation. So if you
have not contributed, please do your part and
join this campaign today.
It’s time to apply our serious dedication to
making our new house a shining symbol of what
fraternity life has to offer. This is your chance
to pass on the Fraternity to the next generation
better than it was given to you.
We are extending a challenge today—join those
of us who have stepped up. Each pledge class
that has the highest participation rate in
their decade by December 31, 2013, will
receive rights to name a bedroom in the
new addition. Be sure your class receives this
high honor. Help us by signing and returning
the enclosed pledge card right now.
Please don’t put it off any longer. Send in your
gift today and help us celebrate our Texas Fiji
history with your generous five-year pledge.

Pledge Class of 1976 Shows High Involvement with
18 Participants
T
exas Fiji sends a thank-you to all who have participated in the Texas
Fiji: Not for College Days Alone campaign, but the work is not done.
In a friendly pledge class competition, we have ranked classes by
their level of participation. The class of 1976 currently has the highest
campaign participation in their 1970s decade, with 18 brothers or 47%
contributing. Four 1976 brothers share why they gave.
Bill Campbell PC ’76
“I can say unequivocally that the Texas Fijis have been one of the most
important parts of my life. I gave because Texas Fiji has meant so much to
me and my family! Since becoming a member in 1976, I have developed
friendships that became some of my best and most devoted friends, e.g.,
groomsmen, godparents to my sons, etc. My sons, William Jr. PC ’10
and Andrew PC ’12, are also Texas Fijis, and so are my uncle, brother,
and cousin.”
Carcy Clinton PC ’76
“Tau Deuteron has and will always have a special place in my heart. The
bond that was created 37 years ago is stronger than it has ever been with
my friendships that began at Buen Retiro. I have had the privilege of truly
living ‘not for college days alone’ with my best friends and look forward to
the next gathering. I see this spirit transcend pledge classes and am very
proud to be a part of the legacy and support the future pledge classes.”
Tom Rodman PC ’76
“The Fijis have been an important part of my life. I still maintain close
contact with many brothers and consider these guys to be my best and
closest friends. I would like to see the fraternity continue to do well. My
son, James, will attend UT in the fall and I hope will continue the family
tradition, if given the chance (I have an uncle, two brothers and two
nephews who are also Fijis).”
R. Bryan Stone PC ’76
“Being a Fiji at the University of Texas has been one of the best experiences
I have ever had. I am still very close to a lot of my Fiji brothers, especially
those in my pledge class. I am proud to say my son, Andrew PC ’08, is
also a Fiji (third generation), and I believe he got to experience a lot of
the great things I did as a Fiji. I would like for others to have the same
opportunities as well.”
This project would not be possible without the generous support of
alumni. Help increase your class’s participation by contributing to the
campaign today.
Please Join Us for 2013 Texas Football Tailgate Parties
Join Texas Fiji at Buen Retiro for tailgating before home football games.
If the game begins at 11 a.m. there won’t be a tailgate, but for all other games we will begin tailgating two hours before the game.
