1921 (circa) Sheet Music by Phil Lyon (Ohio Wesleyan University 1916)

Sheet music by Phil Lyon (Ohio Wesleyan University 1916). The collection includes the following songs:

Fiji Land is the Land for Me
Fiji Rag
Fiji Girl
Fiji Blues
Fiji Sammies
The Purple and White

The collection was given to Nell Wilkinson, wife of Cecil J. Wilkinson (Ohio Wesleyan 1917). There is an inscription which reads "To Nell Whose piano and undeserved praise have helped maintain the Fiji harmony. Phil"

There is a two page email attached to the back of the thirty pages of music which gives some provenance for the collection. The donation was from Harry "Hap" Dowler, Jr., (Ohio Wesleyan University 1954). The description of the item is from Gary Wilkinson (Ohio Wesleyan University 1951), son of Cecil J. Wilkinson (Ohio Wesleyan 1917). Much of the music in this collection was composed and practiced at the home of Cecil and Nell Wilkinson in the 1920s in Washington DC while Phil Lyon was serving as a Field Secretary for Phi Gamma Delta from 1920-1925.
