1980 February Newsletter Alpha (Washington & Jefferson College)
THE FRATERNITY OF PHI GA>1MA DELTA—ALPHA CHAPTER—VOLUME II NO. 1
ir/ASHINGTON AND JEFFERSON COLLEGE, WASHINGTON, PA.
-Presidents Message-
Alpha is rebuilding this year.
Rebuilding in ntunbers and tradition.
In the past several years there has
been a growing trend among all the
Fraternities on Washington and
Jefferson campus to drift from
tradition. Here at Alpha it was
realized by the active population*
that a fraternities life is in her
ritual. If alpha is to survive and
prosper it will not be by hosting
the largest beer parties on campus,
BUT RATHER BY, demonstrating her
true fraternal ties. With this type
of thinking. Alpha is assured a
successful year. The current Alpha
happenings have already demonstrated
this to the actives in the house, as
well as the college administrators.
Rush has gone well for us, with
over 12 freshmen accepting bids.
These initial results lead me to
think that this is truely Alpha's
year and our goals will soon be
reality.
Fraternally yours.
£. John Hevener
-Treasurers Report-
With Alpha being small in
numbers this year funds have been
rather scarce. Despite that we
have managed to sponsor a success
ful nish week.
With the entering of the new
spring pledge class, e^enses will
be covered more easily.
We must give thanks to the
graduates for their help in our
time of need.

Chapter Treas\irer
