TEX A S FIJI
Not for College Days Alone
Construction Nearly Complete, but Campaign Is Not Over
• We Need Your Help to Raise the Remaining $215,000
• Join Us for a Dedication Celebration November 8
T
hank you to all who have contributed financially to the Texas Fiji: Not
for College Days Alone campaign. To date we have raised more than
$5.28 million toward our $5.5 million fundraising goal. We are nearing the
end of construction on our much anticipated new addition and we are so
thrilled to see the excitement growing. The excitement is sure to continue
into football season as graduates come back for games and experience
the new addition firsthand. We hope you’ll join us for our official house
dedication on November 8.
Come See
We truly hope you will come see what your generous contributions have
accomplished. For those waiting to participate in this campaign, it is
equally important for you to come see the improvements. Please make it a
priority to stop by the house during one of your trips to Austin this fall for
a football game or other event. Introduce yourself to the undergraduates
and let them show you the improvements; they are proud of the house and
would love to give you a tour. They especially enjoy hearing about your
fond memories of Texas Fiji!
Come Celebrate
The fall 2014 social highlight for all undergraduates and graduates will
be the unveiling and dedication of the addition to the Chapter House on
Saturday, November 8, coinciding with Homecoming. Join us for a tailgate
and celebration of the new addition and the success of Texas Fiji. This is
a momentous occasion in our Chapter’s history and we sincerely hope
you can join us.
Contribute to the Campaign
This grand structure would not be possible without the support we’ve
received thus far, and our Chapter’s future success will only be possible
with further donations from the rest of our graduate base. Your help is
needed immediately to reach our $5.5 million goal as quickly as possible.
Let’s do this by December 31. Time is running out!
• If you have not made a pledge, please do so now. We know you want
to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
• Many brothers have been willing to advance their pledge payments,
which is helpful to maintain the cash flow and reduce future finance
costs.
• Donors who commit $2,500 or more will be recognized on a
permanent plaque. If needed, please increase your contribution to
have your name permanently included on the plaque.
• If you know of a brother who has not contributed, encourage him
to make a pledge immediately.
• Use the enclosed pledge form to mail in your pledge, or use our
convenient online giving form located at http://texasfiji.kintera.org/
campaign to make your pledge today.
We thank you for giving our campaign committee the opportunity to do
this job and the chance to renew our connections with many brothers. We
look forward to seeing you at the dedication as you renew connections
with your brothers and Texas Fiji.

Ryan Moss PC ’92 Grateful for
Friendships Gained at Texas Fiji
T
he friendships established in his
college years have stood the test
of time for Ryan Moss PC ’92 and
many of the brothers in his pledge
class. “Those first years of college are
a unique time. You are meeting new
people and making new friends, while
trying to balance the independence of
being away from home for the first
time. The Fiji house was a good place
to spend those formative years as you are surrounded by a group of
great guys and good influences.”
Knowing Fiji’s far-reaching legacy, when the work began to update
the Chapter’s home, Ryan chose to join the efforts of generations of
Texas Fiji members. “When I look back on the things that have had
the most influence on my life, being a Fiji at Texas is at the very top
of the list. Supporting an organization that can have the same positive
impact on guys who are coming through today, and maybe someday
even my sons, is of course important to me. Being a Fiji has been
such a positive and meaningful experience for me that I want to
make sure it’s an experience made available for others.”
Updating the Fraternity’s physical structure will have a significant
impact on the Chapter and help ensure its viability for the next
generation. “When someone walks up to Buen Retiro, I think they
recognize that it is special and unique, but it isn’t always practical for
the various activities that occur at the house. The ability to better
accommodate the events hosted by the Chapter, while also opening
up more rooms for the actives, will not only make the house more
functional but also better enable us to attract the best men the
University of Texas has to offer.”
Ryan gathered the lessons learned at Phi Gamma Delta and in his
extracurricular activities, along with his degree in finance, to begin
his career in financial consulting post-college. After business school
at Columbia in New York, Ryan moved into investment banking. In
late 2013 Ryan left Morgan Stanley to join Perella Weinberg Partners,
advising the company’s clients in the energy sector.
Ryan and his wife, Anna (daughter of Steve Head PC ’68 and sister
of Scott Head PC ’98), make their home in Dallas and have twin
boys, Spencer and Bennett, and a daughter, Bailey. You can reach
Ryan at mossrd4@gmail.com.
