This year's Pork Fest, although hampered by bad weather and a smaller than
usual turnout, still contained all of the qualities of the normal celebration of

The dinner was skillfully EMCEED by Pi
Hayden (1978).
The evening was highlighted by the formal presentation to Les Sarty (1927)
of his gold Owl Pin (50 years). This was something the brotherhood has waited
a number of years for.
Always adding to the grandeur of the day, are those distinguished perennials
such as Karl Penney (1927) and Chet Inman (1914), who lend their remembrances of
an earlier time in Pi lota's history to the experiences offered by younger members.
The undergraduate brotherhood thanks all who attended and with proper planning,
hope to beef up attendance at next year's Pig Dinner.

IOTA HOSTS FIRST ANHUAL
SECTION CONVENTION
TRIP TO ISLAND ENCHANTING
This spring Pi Iota hosted tlie
first of what is hoped to be an an
nual occuring section corevention.
Delegates from URl and Union arrived
on Friday night,April:II,to a wel
coming party on the front porch.On
Saturday the delegates turned to the
business at hand by attending con
ferences on areas of chapter admin
istration from finances
to rushing.
Another part of the day was devoted
to informational presentatio'ns on
hazing and grad relations.
Following the days activities whs
a night out where the delegates were
able
to

All in all the delegates
found
the weekend•informative.The exchange
of ideas between chapters allowed
some stimulation in some of the weak

SPORTS-WORLD
This year was another productive
year in the house intramural program,
In the final standing for the grand
trophy we finished with a total of
S62 points,second to Kap with 600
points.All our competing first teams
wom their league titles and advanced
on into the playoffs. Table tennis
and Softball made it to the finals
only to be denied of the ultimate
victory.We are looking foward to a
powerful up-coming year with the ad
dition of some very talented fresh
men.

FOR FRESHMAN CLASS
1 think I can speak far the rest
of my classmates in saying that this
was a .sureesHful year.The majority
of us survived the first year of the
WPT PLAN without major damage.We had
to work our butts off or end up on
our butts,minus some finances.There
was another important thing we also
learned,friendship.With the end of
our fir^t year,we have begun to form
a bond of trust and friendship that
will
remain with us
forever.We are
very proud to have expected into an
exceptional group of men.We are mi ghty proud to be Pijis!'

Terry and his fiance are moving to Finland,where they
will be wed on June 20 in her home town.They will
then go on a bicycle tour of Europe for their honey
moon. They will return to live in Finland until who
